The Green Business Program ~ San Benito County
 The Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program in San Benito County, which includes the Cities of Hollister and San Juan Bautista as well as the unincorporated County, wants to be all about our business community “going green” and your business may be the next Green Business recognized for going above and beyond environmental compliance and meeting criteria to reduce waste, prevent pollution, conserve energy and water, and reduce green house gases. We want to create a positive relationship between government, the public and the business community in San Benito County.
The Green Business Program would like to recognize those businesses leading the way in the environmental field within the County of San Benito. Their good work will inspire other businesses to follow their example. We want to show that businesses can be both green and profitable-and good members of our communities.
To be certified “green," participating businesses must be in compliance with regulatory agencies and meet program criteria for conserving resources, preventing pollution and minimizing waste. Our program assists, recognizes and promotes businesses that choose to operate their businesses in a more environmentally responsible way. We offer interested businesses an easy-to-use framework for improving environmental performance.
San Benito County has been a partner in the Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program since 2008 and currently provides assistance and certification for many types of businesses such as auto repair, dry cleaners, hotels, printers, restaurants, and even wineries.
